Slot Machine Cheats

The old mechanical and electro mechanical machines are the easiest slot machines to cheat because they are generally operated by a series of gears and pulleys.

1. Monkey's Paw
This device was invented by Tommy Glenn Carmichael. It is a made of flexible steel about a foot long and can bent like a claw on one end. Insert the device into the payout chute until the cheat reached the coin counter. Once you placed it, the device would interfere the machine and will overpay. But we now have modern machines having the coin comparator, which determines the token inserted into the machine.

2. Use of Mini-lights
Modern machines already make use of optical sensors. And mini-lights have been used to interfere these optical sensors, which will make the machine "blind" and cannot keep track of how many coins it pays out. However, manufacturers have developed a countermeasure to safeguard the slot machine from this tactic.

3. Use of Coat Hangers
Coat hanger can interfere the machine and will cause the machine not to keep up with the payout. This coat hanger has been used in a mechanical coin counter slot machine before.

4. Counterfeit Tokens, Shaved Coins, and Coins on Strings
It was long time ago when this cheat was used. Thieves tie a string to a coin and pull it back and forth inside the machine. In this way, you try to fool the machine that money was inserted. However, today manufacturers no longer allow this kind of primitive strategies.

5. Sabotage
Sabotage the machine by introducing some flaws to it. You can be the programmer to sabotage the machine and allow the machine to pay out more than required.
